Welcome to the Oak Creek Makerspace!

Deanne Crone Knipple & Anja Bump

Co-chairs, Science Enrichment Committee

The OCE Makerspace is a place where students can explore and experiment as they design, tinker, and engage in science, art, technology, and engineering.

Teachers, students, and parents provided suggestions about what they wanted to see in the Makerspace.  Based on that input, several learning zones were created in which students can use different tools and materials for hands-on opportunities to challenge their creativity, innovation and imagination.  These zones currently include robotics, a 3D printer, reverse engineering, invention corner, art supplies, microscopes, and a Lego wall.  Our grand opening was in September of 2016 (Follow this link to  the LO Review article).

Please explore this website to learn more about the ways that the OCE Makerspace is used, resources and suggestions for student-led activities, upcoming events, and research behind how Makerspaces impact student learning.
