Meet our First Science Corner!!!!
In this new addition to our science enrichment blog, we will bring you updates, fun science facts, STEAM videos, and resources. We have a lot of exiting news!
We have onboarded our science enrichment volunteers and have trained everybody that signed up. We are excited for the additional help and support! With the additional help, we will be able to offer more science enrichment for the kids.
We now have Makerspace Imagineers that will develop new and exciting Makerspace STEAM tasks that are ready to use. All materials will be provided in the Makerspace. This will make it easy for a classroom to transition in and out of it. To the extent possible, the Imagineers will follow the science curriculum when selecting topics. They are already hard at work!
We have a group of parents that will be watching the teacher sign ups on the maker space calendar and will offer their help to the teachers. Teachers are welcome to reach out to us for those volunteer names as well.
Coding Club is almost here! We have joined forces with Jen Eller, who created our coding club last year. We are hard at work to figure out the last logistical details. Jen Eller will run and manage it during recess once a week. She will be supported by two more volunteers. It will be hosted in the Maker Space.
In the OCE Hotsheet, we send out a science night volunteer sign up (for upcoming science night) one week before the student sign up is made available. Volunteers for that science night are given an opportunity for an early signup for their own children.
