We are excited to kick off our first round of science nights for this school year. Lisa Wilcke, also known as the glass lady, has been teaching fused glass in schools for over 15 years. She was one of the exhibitors/presenters at the STEAM Fair this past spring.
During this fun and informative workshop, Lisa will share some information on the science of glass and glass fusion. Students will have the opportunity to see and feel glass that has been melted to different temperatures, sort between transparent and opaque pieces of glass, and look at the natural forms of glass. In addition, students will learn to cut glass and make two projects. One project will be an opaque necklace, the other a transparent window-hanger. Projects will be returned to students in their classrooms after Lisa has completed the fusion process, off-site.
The signup link, which is always distributed first via the Oak Creek hotsheet, can be found here.
