For the fourth year in a row, Oak Creek has participated in the international week for Hour of Code! Between December 4 and 8, children in every classroom had the opportunity to experience coding, at the level of challenge for which they are ready. Over the years, many parents have mentioned that the Hour of Code experience sparked an ongoing interest in coding that has continued to be pursued by their children. Thank you to all of the teachers for welcoming the opportunity to spend part of a day engaging in Hour of Code. A special shout out goes to Ellen Lazaris for volunteering to lead so many classroom sessions. And our biggest thanks goes to Marina Zheng who organized the parent volunteers, created the presentation materials, made sure all of the technology was ready to go, and led so many of the classroom sessions! The school and every student have benefited from your incredible efforts!
